hey there brennan! it kind of
depends on what you want to
listen to first. if you want to get
into emo more chronologically,
4 there's a ton of proto-emo/post-
hardcore acts. i recommend
husker the hated, and
drive like jehu.
к also, important to note, that emo
as a term is used in a very
multifaceted manner. math rock,
pop punk, metalcore, and loads
of other genres intersect. i
think bands like six gallery,
red animal war, and wow, owls!
really exemplify that.
there's some great contemporary
bands too! shin guard released
a real ripper this year. also,

links. been bumping holding
patterns and fiddlehead а lot lately.
