REPLYING TO

Old Lyme, Connecticut
Dear
McCulloch:
I writing in behalf of a friend, Ron
Hubbard of 42 Aberdeen Road, Elizabeth,
If you read
Science Fiction as avidly as I you'll recognize him as one
of the best writers in that field.
Hubbard is also an expert
hypnotist and has been doing some very interesting work lately
in using a modified hypnotic technique for therapeutic pur-
ses.
I not competent to judge the value of this work,
and Hubbard would like to discuss it with someone working in
psychiatry.
If you plan to be in New York or in Old Lyme
in the near future, could he come up and talk to you some time
at your convenience?
I sure you will find Ron a very inter-
esting person, with a career about as varied as your own,
whether or not his method of treatment contains anything of
value.
If you have any time available, you might drop a
line directly to him.
I sor
we didn't get together this summer, but
understand you have been in England.
Work here on information
theory, etc.
is progressing well--I have a paper on сгур-
tography com:
in
out soon in the B.S.T.J. which may interest
you--will send you a reprint as soon as possible.
Sincerely yours,
Claude Shannon
