not sure if you've followed it but there's а meme called the NPC meme.
It's based off the fact a large numbers of people process cognition minus an inner voice.
They operate via instinct.
was convinced this couldn't be true but have asked several people who all say they think rarely or never and never hear an inner
voice/monologue.
They think in an automated way similar to when you are driving and never consciously examine their thoughts or behaviour or very
rarely.
Could this explain a lot? That large numbers of people are effectively NPCs/robots lacking the ability to introspect.
I've read a lot of discussions on how cognition varies and this could explajn why most people come across as mindless sheep.
They lack the inner voice to analyse their behaviour or that of others.
