2003 phone call to French President Jacques Chirac, Bush
appealed to their common Christian faith as a basis for
the invasion: “Gog and Magog are at work in the Middle
East. This confrontation is willed God, who wants to
use this conflict to erase His people's enemies before a
new age begins.”
